We'd also like to thank Francesca Ayala for some press love, in the 8 December 2006 issue of the Philippine Star, her Whipper Snapper column in the Young Star section has this bit on the band's participation in the oh-so-fabulous Rock ng Republika (brought by the Princess Bato Group joining forces with Yabang Pinoy, RockEd Philippines and Manila’s Five Loveliest Foundation): The hundreds of socialites, indie rockers and
avant-garde luminaries that trooped to the Loft were wowed instantly by
the opening riffs of Narda’s Molotov, as lead singer Katwo
Librando led a slam-dancing, heel-stomping crowd of models to unveil
the first collection of the evening, Finina & Swee’s "Quiapo
Cosmopolitan." Girls from Manila’s Five Loveliest foundation pranced
through the audience dressed as debutantes in billowy couture, batting
their eyelashes and flashing copper wire handbags and accessories by
Ming Ong of Kathang Kamay. "Rock ng Republika," firecracker Katwo
shrieked into her megaphone as the audience kicked up its heels and
cheered on the first collection
Also last Sunday, Narda played in RockEd's celebration of International Human Rights Day called Rock the Riles 2006. Katwo says, "It was cool that some of the passers-by to stop
and listen to our set, and of course it helps that some volunteers of
rock ed were totally supportive of our set! Some even knew the songs. Haneps." For pics and another account of the performance, eminent blogger (and long-time Narda fan) Rain Contreras has a post on his blog titled (what else but..) Narda at Rock the Riles 2006.See you at the gigs! Next is next tuesday December 19 at Cafe Saguijo. And yes, do vote for 100 Taon, we can all take it to number one in the NU107 Stairway to Seven!!

2 sat - the loft, rockwell, makati for Rock ng Republika with pedicab,
the dorques, chillitees, sound (if you guys are on MTV these days,
there's a commercial on this gig, syempre Narda is namedropped to be
wearing Fenina&Swee's wardrobe)
5 tue - UP Diliman lagoon for Elvis! (the annual good times gig in December)
7 thu - 6UG for the endofcontracts album launch with pedicab,
radioactive sago project, switch and endofcontracts (this is the album
launch of endo, discotillion's executive producer)
10 sun - MRT taft station for RockEd (four MRT stations will
simultaneously have the country's best artists promote ROckEd's cause
and their music)
Congrats to Katwo!
Katwo tied for first place in the "Hottest Frontwoman in Pinoy Rock" poll in Pulse.ph.
Exactly how hot? A peek in the December 2006 issue of FHM has a spread
on Katwo. Get that and also get the latest issues of BURN (comes
with an audio CD containing a demo version of Narda's 'Buti Nga' among
others) and
PULP magazines (shameless plugging =p ).
And lastly, we got news yesterday that Narda's 100 Taon is on the cusp of NU107's
stairway to seven countdown. We need your help to get into the countdown. Pls text

It'll be of great help if you text your votes every four hours (ie
every DJ's shift, repeated votes in one shift may not be counted).
